Governance Intelligence Briefing
A structured briefing to establish baseline governance intelligence and maturity signals.
Governance Intelligence Baseline Briefing
Most organizations can describe their data strategy. Far fewer can measure their data culture operating conditions – how data is actually used, how it flows across teams, and how governance is experienced in practice.
This baseline takes about 5-7 minutes and produces a UFDCM quadrant classification plus an executive-ready insight brief focused on governance effectiveness and AI readiness.
Figure: UFDCM quadrant map (Usage x Flow).
Why this baseline exists
Data culture is not defined by intent, policy statements, or tooling. It is revealed through behavior: whether governed data is used in decisions, whether assets are reused across boundaries, and whether governance enables delivery or quietly constrains it.
When usage and flow are misaligned, the symptoms are predictable: low trust in governed data, bottlenecks disguised as controls, growing shadow analytics, and AI initiatives that stall despite modern platforms.
This baseline exists to make those operating conditions visible – quickly, clearly, and in leadership language.
What you will receive
Quadrant classification (UFDCM)
A clear placement across Usage and Flow, expressed as one of four recognizable cultural archetypes.
High-level maturity signal
A plain-language interpretation of what your current pattern implies for trust, governance effectiveness, and scalability.
Executive insight brief (PDF)
A concise 1-2 page leadership brief focused on implications, primary risk signals, and what to watch over the next 90 days.
Optional private interpretation
A limited number of guided walkthrough sessions are available for leaders who want context and practical interpretation.
What this is – and what it is not
This is
Evidence-informed. Leadership-oriented. Focused on behavior (usage and flow) rather than aspirational statements.
- Designed for clarity, not certification
- Explainable and auditable logic
- Useful for orientation and prioritization
This is not
Not a marketing survey or product demonstration, and not a replacement for formal assessments.
- Not a certification or maturity audit
- Not a tooling evaluation
- Not a compliance determination
Start the Data Culture Baseline
This takes about 5-7 minutes. Results should be provided immediately (onscreen) and by email, including the executive-ready PDF.
Context: This baseline is a point-in-time orientation tool – not a certification or maturity audit. The value is not the label. The value is making the cultural operating system visible so leaders can decide what, if anything, should change.
Data culture is not a belief system. It is an operating system.
